Yes, I do.
I need one to run the steam vac, conveniently reach the top shelves, and harness donkeys.
But lately I find myself with a new need. I need to objectify and sexualize one, or more. I am not picky in this regard. Yes, I find it an odd need, one I haven’t had before. It started off as a small niggling feeling and grew. It started with Conan, turned into a minor rash with E. E. Doc Smith, spread across my psyche with the polite but firm opinions on women in War of the Worlds and Brave New world, and finally blossomed into a full blown fever with Death Lands: Time Nomads.
This year so far, I have read lots of book written by men, usually, but not always, where the women are few in number and have small, predictable roles – clean, cook, please the man, repeat.
So, I want something a little different. I need your help, because I am having trouble finding a single book that fits my questionable, yet simple, needs. I need, crave, demand a story where:
- there are only a few men, dominated by the numerous, strong, practical lead females
- the author is female *for real, didn’t have to fake a pen name to get published
- the men are in support, not lead, roles and pretty much interchangeable, with no real goals of their own
- the female characters pass the men around like party favors, and only appreciate their abilities to lift heavy objects and sexual prowess
- the book wasn’t written simply to make a point about social norms, but because the author truly sees the world this way, as ‘it was the way they were raised and is to be expected’
